BANGKOK, Sep 7 (TBI) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially announced updated visa exemption policies taking effect on September 15, 2026, launching optimized 30-day and 15-day visa-free entry schemes for eligible foreign tourists.
The revised visa rules are designed to simplify entry procedures, shorten waiting time for international visitors, and further stimulate the country’s tourism industry, a pillar of Thailand’s service economy. Combined with the mature Thailand Immigration Management (THIM) application and TDAC digital arrival card system, the new policy will realize fully digital and streamlined entry registration for foreign travelers.
TAT officials stated that the policy adjustment targets global tourist markets, especially Southeast Asian, European and Middle Eastern visitors. To amplify tourism momentum, TAT will also partner with international luxury event organizers to host high-profile activities including Ultra Thailand, enhancing Thailand’s brand influence as a top global tourist destination.
Industry insiders predict the new visa measures will drive a double-digit growth in inbound tourist arrivals in the fourth quarter of 2026, effectively boosting hotel, catering and transportation consumption across the country.
